2008 Revolution HTC Selects Program

About the program…

Revolution HTC is proud to be a sponsor of a “AAA” showcase model created by an international group of tournament directors and coaches to help expose players to the highest level of competition throughout the spring and summer months for players born in ’89 - ‘98. Players from throughout North America will compete for championships at the most selective AAA showcase tournaments in Toronto, Montreal, and Rochester.

These events compliment our twelve-month training philosophy, which is centered around building on and off ice skill sets essential to the success of high-level hockey players. The goal of this type of tournament play is to expose players to a faster game of hockey, in an environment with talented players beyond what they see during regular season. We view spring hockey as a skill development tool, forcing players to interact with new coaches, teammates, and locations while in a fun and competitive environment. Experienced, professional coaches will provide a learning atmosphere with the understanding that this is an opportunity for exposure and development for the individual and the organization.

How many players will be on each teams’ roster?
For all teams, with the exception of the 99s, we will dress a maximum of 9 forwards, 6 defensemen, and 2 goaltenders to ensure all players get into the rhythm of the game and get ample ice time. There will also be an ALTERNATE forward, defensemen, and goaltender chosen in case of a last minute situation where a rostered player cannot attend.

Is there equal ice time for each player?
Our goal is to roll three lines throughout the majority of regulation time during round robin play. In playoff or championship games playing time is based upon the coaches’ discretion.

How do we handle lodging?
Each player is responsible for making final arrangements at the recommended hotels during our stay at the tournament. We will arrange a block of rooms at each hotel to assure our families are receiving the best possible rates available. Players will be given an itinerary of tournament events and a detailed list with times they are expected to arrive. Players will be expected to be in the city of the tournament the night before the first day of tournament play.

How will we know when and where to be once we arrive at the tournament?
Once the game schedule for the tournament is announced, each team will receive a full weekend itinerary. A practice and team meeting will be held on the evening prior to the start of the tournament, in or around the town where the tournament is held. Our players are asked to arrive to games one hour before the scheduled start time prepared to warm-up with proper athletic attire and running shoes. At this time they will have a brief meeting and begin their warm-up and stretch.

Will there be practices prior to the tournament?
The head coach of each team will determine a practice schedule built around the availability of the players on each roster. Some teams’ rosters will consist of a more regional group of players so getting together for an organized practice will be realistic. However, some rosters will be made up of players from outside of the state and country, so it will be more difficult to meet on a regular basis.

Is there a dress code for participating athletes?
We ask that all players wear khaki pants, a collared shirt, and dress shoes in order to represent themselves and our program well.

What are the High Intensity Training Camps?
Our 2 and 3 day training camps are designed for serious hockey players that want to commit to improving on-ice skills and physical conditioning, while gaining a mental edge on the competition. This is a small group training model, with a 4:1 coach:player ratio. Our high intensity training camps will be held at either Revolution Hockey Training Center or Ice Line Quad Rinks in West Chester, PA. Dates will be arranged with the group of players and parents selected to the AAA program on a per team basis. This is an optional camp.

How many players will be on each teams roster?
For all teams,  we will dress a maximum of 9 forwards, 6 defensemen, and 2 goaltenders.
